WOW, tonight is the first training run, where I ran a sub-nine minute/mile pace in a long time. Back in 96, was probably the last time!! My usual training pace for White Rock last year was a 10 min/mile pace, and this year I had gotten it down to 9 1/2 on a few runs; but today felt really good, which is funny because my legs felt so dead before the run. It's funny how the body reacts to running, somedays they are good, somedays they are bad.
Five more weeks till my first Ultra, so I'm feeling pretty good about my running this year and I'm hoping this base will carry on to a good fall and winter. As of right now I have several marathons and 50k's that I plan on running. Below is my tentative list of potential races.
CrossRoads Marathon October 4
Waco Marathon October 26
Ultracentric 12 hour November 15
White Rock Marathon December 14
Houston Marathon January 18
AT&T Austin Marathon February 15
Cowtown Marathon February 28
Waco 5-0 March 8
Grasslands 50m March 22
Big D Marathon April 5
Oklahoma Memorial Mar. April 26
Would like to get 6-8 of these done this year, we'll see how the legs hold out!!
