This has been a very restful week. I ran 8 miles on Saturday, on Sunday I walked 4 miles and then on Monday I ran a very easy 4 miles, and did the same tonight. My legs feel great and I'm a little edgy so I think the taper is going well. One thing that I have noticed is that my shoes are feeling a little loose and I think it is because my feet have returned to their normal size. My feet have been bothering me a little for the last few months and I think it was because of the swelling from all the long runs I've done the past few months. Now that I am tapering and putting in fewer miles my feet feel great again.
I'm getting super excited about my first 100 mile race in a little over a week and very lucky to have Mark pace me for the final 40 miles. Mark is an excellent runner and finished last years race in under 22 hours. He will be a big support for me as I get my first 100 mile finish under my belt.
