It is time!

Rocky Raccoon 100 starts this next weekend and I guess I'm about as ready as I can be. I've just put another 200 mile month of running in the books, which is about 33% more than I did last year. I'm healthy this year with no foot, back or leg issues. I have a confident calm about me this year that I've never had before. I know that anything can happen during a 100 mile race, but for some reason I just know this is the race I will finish. Last year I had no idea what to expect and even though I only made it 60 miles last year, I feel prepared for the challenges that will come up during the race. I'm actually looking forward to the roots!

It seems we have quite the "All Star" cast of runners showing up this year with Anton Krupicka, Zach Gingerich, Scott Jurek,Hal Koerner, Karl Meltzer, and others showing up. I guess there is a good chance that the course record could be broken this year which is around 13:16, which means I will be getting lapped twice by the leaders and will still have over 40 miles to go.

Well, I've done all the training I can do, I've got all my gear, now I just need to get my head right and get mentally prepared.

Derek - I am really excited for you and your Rocky adventure. I really enjoyed our warm-up run last year in the early miles. I wish we could have repeated it again...not this year.

I will be sending positive vibes to all of you throughout the weekend.

Run strong my brother.
