I've had some pretty good run and a bad one in the past few weeks. I wasn't able to get my long run in on New Years day because I stayed up way too late for New Years, had a few too many beers and had company in for most of the day. On Sunday I did get out for 29 miles and it was a rough finish. I started out way too fast, didn't take in near enough calories or fluids and it caught up with me in the last hour or so. The weather was perfect, if not a little on the cold side which makes it difficult to gauge how much I should be drinking so that's one thing I really need to work on.
I had a holiday on Monday I was able to get back out there for a 12 miler which went really well. For some reason though my left upper hip bone was really bothering me later in the day and continued to hurt for a few days. Tried to run on Wednesday and it made me stop at about 3 miles and I was Little worried about it.
I took the rest of the week off and rested, iced and took some ibuprofen to help with the pain. Starting my run on Saturday I actually felt fine and got in 35 miles. I started a little slower, made sure I got enough calories and fluids and ended the run feeling pretty good. I still lost about 5 pounds of body weight during the 6 hour run so I still need to work on getting more fluids, but I think it will work out on race day when I will carry 2 hand helds and the pace will be quite a bit slower.
Next weekend will be another 25-30 Saturday, and 12 on Sunday and then it will be time to start tapering. Really looking forward to getting these run done with as the miles are starting to take a toll on my body.

These are some serious miles you are putting in. Very impressive.
Remember to listen to your body :-)
